| Minimum Flight Time | 20 hours including the following |
| Dual Instrument Time | 10 hours (5 can be from Private Pilot Training) |
| Dual Night Flying | 5 hours (including 2 hours cross country) |

5 hours (including 10 take-offs and landings) |
EXAMINATIONS AND FLIGHT TEST
No Transport Canada examinations or flight tests are required. An applicant for a night rating shall have reached the level of skill specified in the Flight Instructor Standard.
PRIVILEGES OF RATING HOLDER
The Night Rating allows a pilot to operate an aircraft in night VFR conditions. The training time required for a Night Rating can be applied towards obtaining a Commercial Pilot License - Areoplane and is a recommended first step towards qualifying for a Commercial Pilot License.
