Section 11 Aircraft Operations

11.01 In an emergency requiring the use of an ELT, it should be turned on

  1. immediately and left on.
  2. at the ETA in the flight plan.
  3. for the first five minutes of each hour UTC.
  4. during daylight hours only to conserve the battery.
